Labor Day sales are already underway at major retailers, including Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy. But if you're looking for deals on major appliances, tools, or gardening equipment, Home Depot's Labor Day sale is the place to look. The sale will continue on until Sept. 3. I used price-tracking tools to make sure these deals are solid and made a list of the best ones to make your shopping a little easier. Here are some of the best ones I've found.
Tools
Drills: If you need a bit more power than a basic 12V drill but not quite an impact drill, consider the ONE+ 18V Cordless 3/8 in. Drill Bundle, which comes with a 1.5Ah battery, charger, and drill bits. Not bad for $39.97 (originally $113).
Batteries: Batteries are the lifeline of any drill, and you can never really have enough. If you're Team Ryobi, which I've been a loyal member of for years, you know you can use these batteries for more than just drills (most brands do this as well). This is a great time to stock up on some batteries, with the 18V Lithium-Ion Starter Kit with 2.0 Ah Battery, 4.0 Ah Battery kit just $79 (originally $203.94).
Impact Wrench: The Ryobi ONE+ HP Brushless 4-Mode 1/2 in. High Torque Impact Wrench Kit is made for people who need power. Plumbers, mechanics, or anyone who uses a wrench often will appreciate this high-impact device. This one comes with a 4.0 Ah Battery and 18V Charger, which are powerful and last much longer than the basic battery. You can get it for $159 (originally $269).
Drill and Impact Drill Bundle: If you're Team Milwaukee or haven't committed to any specific brand yet, the M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit is $199 (originally $369). It comes with a subcompact hammer drill and an impact driver, along with four batteries.
Drill and Impact Drill Bundle: If you're a DeWalt fan, this 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless 7-Tool Combo Kit is $599 (originally $949) and has a lot of the same tools for the same price as the Milwaukee tool kit.
Gardening equipment
Leaf Blower: Fall is around the corner, and those leaves are about to fall and cover the yard. If you're looking for a leaf blower to help out, you can get the M18 FUEL 120 MPH 500 CFM 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Handheld Blower for $149 (originally $199).
Saw Kit: Being comfortable with a saw can save you a lot of money on hiring landscapers. The M18 FUEL 8 in. 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless HATCHET Pruning Saw Kit is an 8-inch saw selling for $249 (originally $499) after a 50% discount. It comes with a battery that can last over 150 cuts from a 6-inch diameter branch.
Appliances
Right now, Home Depot has an extra discount that runs until Sep. 10 on top of the Labor Day deals. For select appliances (refrigerators, washers and dryers, freezers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, and over-the-range microwaves), you can get $100 off when you spend $996-$1,995; get $250 off when you spend $1,996 - $2,995; and get $450 off when you spend $2,996 or more. You'll know the appliance is eligible when you see the "Buy More, Save More" banner under the price.
Microwave: Stainless steel is always a safe bet when it comes to appliances. Right now, the Whirlpool 1.9 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave is $278 (originally $479) after a 42% discount. This microwave can steam cook and has a sensor that automatically sets cooking time based on what you're warming up.
Gas Range: If you're in the market for a new gas range, the Frigidaire 30 in. 5 Burner Freestanding Gas Range is $648 (originally $979) after a 34% discount.
Fridge: The best deal on a 33-inch fridge at Home Depot right now is the Whirlpool 22 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator, currently going for $1,498 (originally $2,599). If this happens to be the size you need, you're in luck. This is the cheapest this fridge has been in months.
Fridge: For those who need a bigger fridge, the 36-inch Bespoke Refrigerator is $1,998 (originally $3,199) after a 38% discount. It holds 29 cu. ft. inside with a 4-door French door design in stainless steel.
