TVs and monitors might be one of the hotter items to get during a big sales event like October Prime Day, but projectors are something you certainly shouldn’t overlook. The BenQ X300G is a standout deal available during the sales event, and it’s not a Prime-member exclusive. Instead, you’re looking at a great projector for home theaters and gaming dens alike. And while it was already something of a bargain when it launched at $1,799 (I know, I know, that's still expensive), it has come down to $1,499 since then and the current $200 discount makes it an especially good catch at $1,299.

I’ve personally tested this projector, and it’s small but mighty. You’ll want to draw the curtains and dim the lights to make the most of it, but its 2,000-lumen LED light source puts on a great show if you’re watching bright content or playing a bright game, like Fortnite

With the X300G, you can easily shift from having a modest 30-inch screen or see the picture span your walls to offer a 150-inch projection. The optics in the X300G provide a short throw, so you can set it on a coffee table just four feet from a wall and get an 80-inch picture. The X300G has the flexibility to help you make the most of either setup and every size in between. With the X300G, you can opt for a 4K picture running at 60Hz—great for story-centered games and consoles—or you can crank up the speed by opting for a 1080p/240Hz mode that provides fast, fluid, and responsive gameplay for competitive games.

Given the compact size of the BenQ X300G, it can also serve as a portable option you might pair with a gaming laptop. It’s small enough to fit into a duffel bag or large backpack, and it would effectively let you bring a large display anywhere you went just as long as you had access to a power outlet. With built-in speakers on the X300G, you really don’t need to worry about bringing much else beyond the projector and a gaming system to get into the action.

What do you think so far?

The BenQ X300G isn’t limited to just gaming either. It includes a streaming stick that tucks away inside the chassis, giving you easy access to all sorts of content.
